THIS HOTEL IS CLOSED. DO NOT BOOK. I booked and paid online, arrived at the hotel to find it closed. There was no sign, no explanation, nothing. A nearby business owner helped me get in contact with the hotel. They were useless and tried the old bait and switch.

We just came back for a weekend in playa del carmen and decided to book our stay at Coco Rio. When we arrived Ivana the receptionist welcomed us and provided with information with this to do in Playa. She was ftiendly, warm and great customer service. Our hotel room was spacious, cozy and clean. The great aspect of this hotel is the location, about two blocks from 5tha avenida. The rooms are quiet and luckily you can sleep well without the noise outside. Another thing we noticed, the mattresses are so comfortable and king sized beds! I recommend this hotel for its impeccable service, kuddos to Ivana ( we loved her), location, comfy bed and great space. We already want to go back!!!

we stayed in one of the rooms with a balcony facing the street, very cozy hotel and we sat on the balcony every evening. the staff are incredibly nice, Jessica especially but everyone was very helpful. If you are going to a Rooftop bar/pool, we can recommend Be playa, 20 minutes walk to Punta Esmeralda or 4 minutes to the regular beach. We can also recomend: Eat at Don Sirloin and El Fogon, food and sometimes live band at Lost Tiki. A trip to Rio Secreto and cenote Azul. Boat tour to Isla mujeres and Isla Contoy (from Cancun). Great stay in hotel coco rio. The rooms are really cute and comfortable. Great big bathroom and amazing shower. Tomas was great help. The room was very clean and great air con + fan setup. Really happy with my stay here despite the lack of facilities - not needed though due to great location to 5th Ave!

Excellent location and very rich breakfast. Points to improve: Hot water never came out of the shower despite reporting it every day and they did not clean us or give us clean towels. For its price I think it is an excellent option

Everything was good, the staff was very friendly and the hotel has a perfect location, since it is next to Fifth Avenue but you can't hear the noise that there is at night in that area. Perfect to rest after doing a few excursions. Adrián was very kind and gave us several tips that were very helpful!! Always with a smile on his face.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks with my girlfriend, excellent location I would say, in the center, on a side street of Fifth Avenue, surrounded by REAL Italian restaurants and a pharmacy, which never hurts. The staff is always very kind and smiling, (Tomas, an Italian boy and Enoy in particular) always available for anything. You can see that the hotel has recently been renovated, very nice and in local style, our room was quite small, functional, but without various services. In 2 weeks of stay, it was cleaned maybe 3 times, (the third at my request). We also had breakfast included, which was a nearby bar 3-4 minutes away on foot, an atomic disaster! (the colored one). Good but we can do better.
