It is a train lodge. I got a single cabin with a single bed. The room is a tiny one. It is ok for 1 night. Toilet and bathrooms are shared.

Really pretty and nice place with an amazing beach view! The restaurants next to the hotel are really nice too, which hold free live band shows sometimes!

It definitely pays for itself. The main advantages are the atmosphere (especially for photos), cheapness and proximity to the beach. The included breakfast is quite modest, but you can order something extra for an additional fee - it will still be cheaper than most other hotels.

We had booked the royal family room but upon check-in it turned out that the room had already been given to guests who were staying for multiple days. According to the hotel this was due to a system error. We were offered a caboose single room as a replacement. I saw on the trip website that the room was indeed still available and the price for an overnight stay was half of the royal family room. We did not accept this room and after insisting we were given a double royal room. The service, food and location were otherwise good but not getting the room you booked is annoying.

What a fabulous holiday! We enjoyed our stay in the double bed cabin which had a great sea view. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean was wonderful. The shared bathroom facilities were not a problem at all and everything is kept clean and orderly. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food was fantastic. The beach is on your doorstep and shops and restaurants are in walking distance. Will definitely be back again!

We only stayed for one night as we are doing the garden route, but it was such a quirky and unique place to spend the night. The staff were very friendly especially Kim and the young girl (I think it was mentioned she was a trainee) on reception who helped us with a plug situation, Themei in the restaurant was very smiley and pleasant. It’s a great location right on the beach and the view you get from your room is excellent! Comfy beds and the cabins are surprisingly spacious.

Have been to this restaurant many times over the years & always found the food & hospitality excellent. This year it was completely different. The choice of menu was average so was the food in fact inedible vegetables over cooked. Replacing with a pizza. Oh what has happened in 7 years!!!
